Good to know

House rules

Welcome to Ocean View Town House. These notes help ensure a pleasant stay for you and all other guests. By confirming a booking, you agree to follow the house rules.

General information

If the inventory, furniture or any provided facility does not meet your expectations, please let us know. We are also happy to help with questions about local events and services.

Power on arrival

Check-in is via a lockbox. After entering the house, switch on the power first. The fuse box is in the laundry room at the back left; push the red switch up. If the refrigerator does not start automatically, switch on the voltage stabiliser immediately to its right.

Non-smoking property

The house is a non-smoking property. Smoking is permitted outside only. Please dispose of ash safely; ashtrays are not provided.

Keys and doors

Do not give the keys to unauthorised persons. Replacement costs may be charged if a key is lost.

To lock the front door, first lift the handle fully, then return it to the centre. Only then can the key be turned.

Cleanliness

  • Do not dispose of food waste, hazardous liquids, grease or sanitary products in toilets, sinks or showers. Please use the bins provided.
  • Please remove outdoor shoes in the entrance area.
  • The robot vacuum may be used for daily cleaning. Please empty its dust container every day.

Kitchen

You are welcome to use basic supplies such as sugar, salt, pepper, flour, cooking oil and rice. Please replace anything you finish.

Washing machine

Use only detergent marked as suitable for washing machines, not hand-washing powder. If you use the detergent provided by us, each wash costs TSH 5,000.

Air conditioning and fans

Every room except the kitchen has its own air conditioner and remote control. Please leave the remote in its room and use the air conditioning only while you are at home. To switch it off completely, use the remote first and then the wall switch next to the light switch.

Hot water

The house has two electric water heaters: one for the bathrooms and one for the kitchen. They are switched off on arrival. The bathroom switch is next to the light switch; the kitchen switch is below the sink. Both heaters must be switched off again on departure day.

Internet

Unlimited internet can be added for €25 per stay. Confirmed guests receive the current access details separately.

Animals

Pets and other animals are not permitted in the house.

Liability and responsibility

Parents are responsible for their children. You are responsible for your personal belongings and for the conduct of your guests. We accept no liability for damage to or loss of items you bring with you.

Please treat the house and its contents with care. If an accident happens, tell us immediately. The full replacement value may be charged for damaged or lost items.

Parking and waste

Two parking spaces are available in front of the house.

Please separate waste for recycling. The containers are labelled, and Fumba Town provides three different bins behind the house.

Access

In exceptional circumstances, the owners or an authorised person may need to enter the house. We will inform you in advance.

Before you leave

The remaining cleaning will then be taken care of.

  • Leave the house swept and tidy.
  • Remove all perishable food from the fridge and the house.
  • Switch off the fridge and leave both the fridge and freezer-compartment doors open.
  • Put away dishes, pots, pans, cutlery, toaster and kettle clean and dry.
  • Leave the washing-machine door open.
  • Switch off all appliances at the socket switches.
  • Close toilet lids and empty all bins.
  • Wash used bed linen and towels and leave them to dry on the drying rack.
  • Switch off air conditioners at the wall switch, as well as water heaters and fans.
  • Bring outdoor chairs and tables back inside.
  • Lock the back door.
